Play Facilitator in Wrap Around Care

We’re looking for creative, enthusiastic and professional Play Facilitators to join our Wrap Around Care team, running Breakfast and After-School Clubs at primary schools across Bristol.You’ll help children aged 4–11 start and end their school day feeling calm, regulated and cared for — through creative activities, outdoor play, mindful moments and healthy snacks. Sessions differ day to day, but the goal is always the same: a safe, fun, stimulating space where children can flourish, and where parents can leave their kids with confidence.

Pay: £13.50 per hour, in line with the Real Living Wage
Hours: 5–20 hours per week (minimum two sessions per week), sessions Monday–Friday 7.30–9am and 3–6.15pm, plus additional hours for training and supervision
Contract: Fixed term, academic year 2026/27 (39 weeks)
Location: School delivery across BS5 & BS16, with occasional time at our Bristol head office
Start date: Training from 1 September 2026; delivery from 7 September 2026

We’re after someone with at least a year’s experience working creatively with children, a warm and authentic manner, and the reliability and professionalism to work well with children, parents and school staff alike. A Level 3 Childcare qualification, Paediatric First Aid, or experience supporting children with additional needs are all a bonus.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Recruitment into our freelance team in ongoing, and we review applications as we received them. If you have made a successful application we will invite you to join our next interview session with available spaces.

We host in-person interviews on the First Thursday of every month, which include a group session where we ask all applicants to come prepared with an workshop activity or game to be shared, alongside a short interview with one of the development team.

SAFEGUARDING

Due to our position of trust in our sector and the nature of our work with children and young people, all employees employed directly with the Company will be required to complete the Company Application Form to a required standard, provide suitable references and will be required to undergo enhanced DBS checking; as required by Keeping Children Safe In Education (KCSIE) protocol.

In the process of collecting references, we will request information regarding whether or not you are considered suitable to work with children and young people.

You will be required to bring identification and processing documents with you to interview; a list of suitable documents will be provided once you have been shortlisted.
