When corporate giving meets community impact: Spire Bristol Hospital, part of Spire Healthcare, supports thousands of local families
This winter, Spire Bristol Hospital is taking corporate giving to a whole new level, blending employee engagement, local collaboration and community impact in a festive initiative that goes beyond the usual office Secret Santa.
Instead of exchanging gifts internally, teams at Spire Bristol Hospital have been donating their Secret Santa funds to curate and deliver creative activity packs and food parcels to children and families across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, as part of Unique Voice’s annual Winter Campaign.
Alongside this, the hospital team are running festive bake sales, raffles, a festive lunch and a pre-loved toy sale to raise additional funds, and 19 staff members – including the children’s nursing team – have been volunteering their time in hands-on packing sessions to assemble the creative activity packs for families to enjoy together this winter.
“We’re thrilled to support Unique Voice’s campaign this winter. We firmly believe in giving back to our local community – and knowing our efforts will directly impact families right here in Bristol is what drives us.” Comments Ann Hyde, Hospital Director at Spire Bristol. “This collaboration is also much more than a seasonal charity effort. It is inspiring to see so many people giving their time and efforts to make a real difference locally, and it means so much more to us to be creative and fun with it too.”
The team at Spire Bristol Hospital, having already raised nearly £600 from the activities, are aiming to raise as much as possible to fund the activity packs for Bristol families. The packs are full of arts and crafts materials that encourage imagination, mindfulness and shared playtime for young people and their families.
Unique Voice’s Winter Campaign is powered by the generosity and engagement of local businesses, this year reaching over 2,000 families across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Spire Bristol Hospital’s approach – combining financial contributions, staff volunteering, and festive fundraising activities demonstrates an innovative take on the traditional CSR model, showing how businesses and teams can really come together creatively to deliver a demonstrable positive impact.
Krystal Keeley, Unique Voice Co-Founder and Director adds: “We’re delighted to see a local business like Spire Bristol Hospital get creative with their giving. It demonstrates how much they care for their community – it’s not just a financial contribution, but a heartfelt action. We’re exceptionally grateful to the whole team for their time and fundraising efforts this winter – it really is an amazing example of how businesses can do great things by engaging with their communities in creative and impactful ways.”
Spire Bristol Hospital’s partnership with Unique Voice demonstrates how corporate responsibility, when combined with local collaboration and employee engagement, can create a meaningful campaign that benefits both the community and those delivering it.
