Unique Voice is a nationally accredited social enterprise working frontline in schools and communities across the South West. We deliver creative programmes using the arts as a medium to make a positive and long-lasting social impact.


We create programmes and films designed to enable young people to learn, develop and grow in all aspects of their social emotional development. We provide topical and engaging programmes on subjects such as mental health, achievement and belonging, crime and anti- bullying with much of our work aligned to safeguarding and early intervention based services through performance, film and workshop programmes.


Unique Voice provides creative and stimulating funded holiday programmes across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Working with a trauma- informed approach we provide a safe space for children to participate in performing arts, games, art and creative activities whilst delivering information on healthy eating and providing a locally cooked healthy lunch each day.

Job Role

The Creative at Unique Voice plays a key role in developing ideas, creating content, and designing programmes for a wide range of projects. No two days are the same; one may be spent attending creative meetings and writing content from our office hub, the next could be facilitating • workshops, running rehearsals, or filming on location. Juggling multiple projects at a time, the Creative could find themselves writing scripts for theatre shows, planning workshops tackling key social issues, attending holiday programmes for targeted young people, or presenting ideas to project funders and stakeholders.

Whether on zoom or in office, creative meetings at Unique Voice are full of inspiration and passion; the Creative plays a pivotal part in coming up with fresh ideas and ensuring the work produced is always original, exciting, and front-line in its field. The nature of this role requires an individual who is versatile and adaptable, ready to problem solve and take on different responsibilities to suit each project’s needs. Working with children and young people is central to all aspects of the Creative’s work, from facilitating workshops to planning youth programmes. A true passion for the social and emotional development of children is vital for this role.

As a member of a hard working and passionate team, the Creative is responsible for personal workload management and planning to ensure that deadlines are met. The varied nature of Unique Voice’s work makes this role ideal for someone ready to jump into exciting new concepts and approach each project with curiosity, passion and creativity.

Unique Voice is committed to supporting staff members to meet the needs of service users, offering regular opportunities to take part in CPD trainings and coaching. The Creative sees projects from the start to the finish of their lifecycle and works to review and improve at every opportunity.

Characteristics & Responsibilities

  • Develop and create creative content for current and future Unique Voice projects including, but not limited to, classroom delivery, holiday services, activity packs, film projects
  • Write project overview, workshop material and project material based on your research, ideas and creativity to create lesson plans and content to ensure successful execution/ delivery
  • Direct delivery/facilitation of projects as required, e.g. workshops, CPDs, training & filming sessions
  • Take a leading role in the ongoing development and support of the Mental Health Toolkit (online subscription based PSHE tool) including delivery of external training/support to participating schools and promotion to potential new users
  • Undertake admin tasks to co-ordinate delivery of services
  • Liaise with partners and undertake research to ensure content is in line with demand/ service requirements
  • Work in association with other Unique Voice team members in developing new services
  • Write or host training sessions to inspire other members of the UV team to strengthen their role
  • Write termly newsletters for the Unique Voice community
  • Write marketing material for current and future Unique Voice projects


Due to our position of trust in our sector and the nature of our work with children and young people, all employees employed directly with the Company will be required to complete the Company Application Form to a required standard, provide suitable references, and will be required to undergo DBS checking at the appropriate level; as required by Keeping Children Safe In Education (KCSIE) protocol.In the process of collecting references, we will request information regarding whether or not you are considered suitable to work with children and young people.
